I realise that….

1. I haven’t been blogging for a long, long time, and because of that, I have no idea what I should blog about. So, here is a random post about random things under the sun.

2. People (or at least people around me) tend to, erm, fall in love during stressful periods, like exams and end-of-year exams for that matter. Nothing implied.

3. Ligands do not exist in hexagonal shapes. (I know somebody is laughing her head off when she read this)

4. The thing I hate the most about exam is that 1-3 minutes waiting for the paper to start in the sports hall.

5. Global financial crisis is not just a macroeconomic issue. I have recently noticed that my wallet is thinning rapidly.

6. Some songs can be totally depressing even though they have cheerful tunes. Check out “Alone Again (Naturally)” by Gary O’Sullivan

7. I don’t like feeling hurt when I’m supposed to be angry.

8. Thanksgiving is a nice tradition. Maybe I should start one in my family :D

9. Indie songs are not bad at all!!! I regret having badmouthed that genre before, now I totally love indie songs, thanks to a certain popular TV show about a certain borough in NYC.

10. Paris Hilton can be amusing, and not in the dumb-blonde-bimbo way, either. I have gained new respect for her after her rebuttal video against McCain (that was totally original), her interview session with Tyra Banks, and her various appearances in Ellen Degeneres (I hope I spell her name correctly) and her endless torture in David Letterman’s late shows.

Welcoming back my iPod

A small miracle happens to me today :) Well, actually you can’t even call it a miracle, since there’s nothing extraordinary about it. But still, it’s miraculous to me: my ancient, spoiled iPod shuffle actually works again!

After almost a year, I can’t figure out what is wrong with my iPod, everytime I plugged it into my laptop, iTunes just won’t detect it. Some forums on the internet gave me some idea that some bugs might have attacked my iPod. But I, never an expert in fixing computer problems, had no idea how to kill the bugs.

Then few days ago, I updated my iTunes (there’s a gap of about 4 versions between my old iTunes and my current iTunes). And today, I just plugged my iPod in again, in the smallest hope that the new iTunes might recognise it. AND IT DOES!!! Love you Steve Jobs!

Now I won’t have to live with the guilt of buying a new iPod and throwing away an iPod that can’t work anymore (okay, weird, isn’t it much easier to use a spoiled iPod as an excuse to buy a new one? But my somehow illogical mind doesn’t work that way) And I have fallen for the new iPod nano, although I can’t decide which colour is the best. My ambition is to buy one using my own money, once I start working next year. (yeah, unlimited wants, limited resources, or rather, non-existent resources since I haven’t even started working!!!)

I JUST SAW A LIZARD IN MY ROOM!!! I hope good luck is on its way to me.

Unlimited wants, limited resources

I WANT THIS! I WANT THIS!!! I saw the better version on “House Bunny” but I really don’t mind this one, from eBay, just that I don’t have any credit card to buy it T_T

Another thing I want is Chuck Bass’ trademark scarf from Gossip Girl, which is not sold anywhere I suppose? But I guess it will be really expensive, sobs.

I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf...
I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf…

I have so many other things I want, which is not easily obtainable T_T

Inflation is damaging my health

I’ve always thought that it’s expensive to be healthy. A trip to nearby supermarket today only confirm that thought. I planned to stock up food in my room since school is starting again soon, and I won’t have that much time to go to supermarket during schooldays. So I thought I should opt for healthier choice instead of transfats-stuffed chips. But guess what, my favorite Red Globe grapes are more expensive by $2. So I look for longan, less healthy choice, but it’s also more expensive by $1 per punnet. ARGGH. Maybe I should buy apples, but all the apples there are such a sore sight. Urgh. So I ended up buying nothing (although the relatively cheap $3 Ruffles was definitely tempting, but wow, I didn’t buy it).

School starts again tomorrow!!! I don’t want to face my exam results!!!

Walking the plank

Supposedly I have to cross this deep, wide, deadly cliff, and I have this super narrow plank ahead, which creaks and sags when I step on it, will I ever cross the cliff? If I’m afraid of dying, I will never step on the plank. On the other hand, if I don’t mind giving up my life, in other words, if I have nothing to lose, I would have stepped on it and guess what, I will end up on the other side safely because I’ve tried my best.

Bottom line, I will never ever be able to kickstart if I have so much worries and fear of disappointment and high, perhaps unreasonably, expectation.

Thanks for the inspiration, friend :-)

I just…

survived the worst stomach cramp I’ve ever had in my whole life. It lasted for three freaking hours and it actually paralysed me, ’cause my legs became super weak and sore that I couldn’t stand up. Possible reason for this: lack of exercise.

And because of the cramp, I could not finish what I was supposed to be revising, so now, come the anxiety. Not that anxious anyway, ’cause I still find the time to blog tee-hee.

About me

I tried this personality test link on my friend’s blog and this is the result. It’s quite interesting because I have never got this kind of description. And the test is pretty extraordinary, too, it’s not the type that asked you what would you do in different situation, but more on your imagination. So I guess, maybe something is wrong with how I perceive myself? Ah, I guess I don’t really know myself. Anyway, some of the description rings true.

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don’t judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren’t necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people’s eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love:

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education

Education is less important than the real world out there, away from the classroom. Deep inside you want to start working, earning money and living on your own.

The right job for you:

You have many goals and want to achieve as much as you can. The jobs you enjoy are those that let you burn off your considerable excess energy.

How do you view success:

Success in your career is not the most important thing in life. You are content with what you have and think that being with someone you love is more than spending all of your precious time just working.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It’s time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Feeding your hair

This is another random post (I have nothing much to post these days, exam is coming and I’m feeling dull these days).

I’m dying for healthy hair. I have curly hair, which is dry (so it’s not nice), and I think I’ll be a ravishing beauty if only my hair is smoother, shinier and more manageable, hehe… Anyway, so I googled ‘healthy hair’ and I got this:

Top 10 Foods for Healthy Hair: salmon, dark green vegetables, beans, nuts, poultry, eggs, whole grains, oysters, low-fat dairy products, carrots

What I eat everyday: dark green vegetables, poultry (chicken!!), eggs, and low-fat Anlene

Does it work? I don’t know, how long should I wait for the results?

Back to Business – Da Olympics!

Haven’t posted entries for quite some time.

I watched the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics last night! As in, on the tube. Haha, but it was super cool. It totally rocked the earth, I wish I could be there. Those who boycott the opening ceremony, too bad honestly… And I guess, the grand-ness of it all put pressures on London. No worries, London, you can do it!

Anyway, I passed out before the torch part, which I regretted because I heard it was really nice. And that was supposed to be the finale T_T But I was too sleepy, the delegation part bored me. I thought it was out of order, but apparently, the countries were called upon based on the number of strokes of their Chinese names. Wow.

Anyway again, Sarkozy and Bush really went to the ceremony, and I once again become aware of how their faces are very, er, animated. No offence, but I think they look like living caricatures. Hm, maybe I’m too exposed to their caricatures?

Here is my Olympics stuffs, all of which came from my friends :D Thanks a lot friends :D
